Full Screen Map This summit is on farmland and the owner lives off-site. A local person advised that the owner would likely be unconcerned about visits. However, if you see a farmer you should ask for permission.
The summit provides plenty of space for HF antennas but the higher hills around might restrict success with VHF. The hill has numerous footpaths, bridleways and byways and the summit is a relatively short distance from one of these. Report 1
SN 7184 7650 - This is the road junction at Mynydd Bach. It is huge and there is room for a few cars on the W side without causing any obstruction.
From the parking spot, walk about 70m NE along the road to where a track leave the road on the S (RH) side. Take this track, which is a bridleway. Go past the communications masts and continue to where the track goes down hill with a small conifer plantation on the left. You will come to a gate with a T junction on the other side. Turn left and walk for about 50m to another gateway. After the gateway turn immediately right and head up a short, steep hill with the fence-line on your right. The summit is quite obvious. |
