Full Screen Map This area is a grouse moor and, although Access land, no dogs are permitted off the PROWs. Also this access land may be closed for up to 28 days as permitted by the CROW Act. Such closures are not permitted during June, July and August. Outside this period contact Natural Resources Wales who can give details of closure days. This is a fine summit with good VHF take-off and room for HF dipoles. It is quite remote and you are unlikely to see anyone on your visit. Report 1
SO 20209 53209 - Park on the wide verge just ENE of the cottage. The hard standing outside the cottage should be avoided as it is for the cottage. Room for a few cars.
From parking spot walk SW on the road, past the cottage and to the point where the bridleway starts, on your right. Follow the path behind the cottage, through a field and on to the common. Continue to SO197539 where several paths converge. Take the easterly bridleway north but then turn NW onto a track that leads to the Butts and a small pool. Turn right after the pool and then left on a track not marked on the map. This takes you close to the summit on the S side. |
